There have been two generations of SLK cars from Mercedes-Benz. The latest incarnation, inspired by Mercedes' Formula 1 car, won the Canadian Car of the Year Best New Convertible award.

The vehicle is famous for its folding hardtop. While it did not pioneer the idea, the SLK revived its usage in modern automobiles, pairing the comfort and security of a coupe with the sense of freedom and fun of a convertible.
