Starting with quad-cycles in the last part of the 19th century, Royal Enfield took the biking world by surprise with their 2.25hp V-twin engine machine in 1909. Highly reliable for the time, Enfield went on to produce bikes for military and police uses, including bikes with machine gun or stretcher carrying combinations.

Royal Enfield's tradition for reliability and innovation continued, producing models such as 1990's Taurus diesel, the first mass-produced diesel motorcycle in the world, and 1993's Bullet 500 which went on to become their most coveted and well known bike of all.
